Eunice turns 6 months old tomorrow. I am using this milestone as the official day to stop nursing her.
I've given her the best milk for 6 months. Hopefully this 6 months' supply would have boosted her immune system for time to come, especially so as we send her to infant care.
Recalling back, I am thankful for a supportive husband. (He'd better be....heehe.....) Since I provide the booby juice, he provides the labour of washing the pump accessories and popping them into sterilizer, fetch me water, sit beside me while I pump before bedtime (one way of couple time).
My colleagues are a bunch of sweet ladies too. Their understanding allowed me to take time out from work to express milk while they finished up the job.
Bosses are quite understanding too. There's this room in the pantry that had been converted into a moo-moo room, I called it. When I first return to work, out of 8 hours of working time, I used like 1hr 15 min for expressing milk. I feel like I have not accomplished much at work. It's just like a job for me to pass time, earn money and when the clock strikes 5.30pm, I scoot off to fetch my gal.
Now that I am almost done with nursing, expressing milk will no longer be the first and last thing I do when I wake up or go to bed. Yippeeee....so happy! I will no longer by bound to the pump and nursery rooms in shopping malls. Our shopping time will no longer be restricted. And it's also time I look into trimming down.
I was on half day leave yesterday. Took the chance to shop for a dress for a wedding this Saturday at Isetan and Tangs. The dresses looked pretty and there were sizes available for me. No matter how pretty they are, they do not look good 'up-sized'. I am even more determined to lose those flabs. *BOOHOOHOO*
Eunice is starting to recognize me. When someone else was carrying her, she would cry and look at me with those 'puss-in-boots' eyes. Heh heh, I kind of like her 'yearning-for-mummy' expression. Once I took over from carrying her, she kept quiet and happily continued to stuff her hands into her mouth. *nice feeling*
Yesterday when I picked her up from infant care, her eyes lit up when she saw me and got excited. I was talking to the teacher and didn't carry her, she started to cry. *aaaawwww* So nice leh, the feeling.......
Paranoid me is afraid our bond will be slightly detached when I stop nursing her.
